About Us

International House of Tea originated in Thunder Bay, Ontario as a fundraising project for local humanitarian organizations.  The success of Humanitea created a demand for a permanent source of quality loose tea in Thunder Bay.  International House of Tea opened its retail shop in November of 2006 on Fort William Road, sharing space with Orysi Aromatherapy and Solsbury Hill Wellness Centre.  Having outgrown its first location in 2011, International House of Tea relocated to the Bay and Algoma Shopping District in June of that year.
